FEATURED STORY: KIM FAMILY
Yuni and I found HOPE Church’s website through the Internet one Sunday morning. We had been looking for a church in the Lehigh Valley that offered a contemporary worship format. Pictures of the band on stage sealed it for us and we decided to check out HOPE Church. We did have our concerns, though. Having grown up in church environments all our lives, Yuni and I wanted to make sure that the sermons were Bible-based. Furthermore, we need to find a reliable nursery for our daughter Catalina. Lastly, we were looking for a good community of believers who welcomed a chance to shake a new person’s hand and get to know others. We found all of this, and more, at HOPE Church. Pastor Dan’s sermons were not only Bible-based, they are PRACTICAL and APPLICABLE in our everyday lives. The Promiseland nursery has been a wonderful experience for Catalina - often times, she doesn’t want to leave because she has been having so much fun with the caring teachers and staff, and of course, her new found friends. The HOPE community welcomed our family into the fold immediately - while it has only been about 6 months since we joined HOPE, we feel as though we’ve known many of our new friends for much, much longer. What’s more, folks here seem to have left their pretense and “armor” at home. This makes it easy to mix & mingle without anxiety or being self-conscious. Additionally, my family and I are active in a LIFE Group (discussion groups formed based on geographic or other commonalities). Ours is a group of families and twice a month, we host 5 or so families at our home for heart-felt conversations about how the recent sermons apply to our day-to-days lives. Our LIFE Group meetings have been great opportunities to get to know other HOPE folks, to share our thoughts and concerns about our spiritual & family lives, and to have AWESOME home-cooked potluck meals. Feeding our hearts AND our tummies… HOPE Church welcomed us with open arms and we, too, have embraced the chance to get involved with its community. We look forward to continuing our Christian walk with our new friends at HOPE Church. —Paul, Yuni, and Catalina Kim |
